I live in Australia, the last summer with the air con going 24-7, 3.2 months actually, my total electrical energy, was the same amount of energy in one tank of diesel. That's a lot of energy, an electric car could go quite a few full charge and discharge trips depending on whether the battery is a 100 or 75 kwh version For the same amount of energy emissions, and of course no diesel is zero emissions because there are other gases but just for the energy emitted, the 700 miles should be around 3035.84 miles to be comparable to the energy your diesel emits.

Oil runs out within 40 years and easy oil is declining now at 2%, thinking driving is a right and part of life won't continue with fossil fuels. A whole summer with the air con going 24-7 in AU is equivalent to the energy in one tank of diesel. You want to emit this energy over long distances probably isn't going to be in the future. Complaining about charging infrastructure when people might be going back to horses shows how misinformed the public are.

Right so oil rigs and oil spills and the carbon emitted committing the earth to a hothouse earth and millions dying just gets ignored? When the earths climate has doubled in warmth in just 14 years and we are now the hottest we have ever been in 3 million years, you think talking to activists who want to talk to you about caged eggs, you think you are achieving something?

I can see you aren't measuring apples to oranges here, if the UK grew the grapes that would mean irrigation and sunshine, same as apples and tractors were all in the UK and different seasons by being in the southern hemisphere didn't matter. What matters is the energy in a tank of diesel, I'm in Australia and last summer, 3.2 months actually, with the air con going 24-7, was the same amount of energy consumed as there is in one tank of diesel. Multiply that buy all the people who choose to drive to town and you can see we have a problem. A whole summer with the air con going is equivalent to one tank of diesel, and people can't walk or take the bus without complaining. If apples or grapes weren't supplied because they were out of season still doesn't mean you should drive.

Net Zero argument still remains. A whole summer with the air con going in an au summer is equivalent to the energy in one tank of diesel. Saying diesels last longer or that we even should have cars going into the future is based off your past and not the reality of net zero going into the future.

@elbuggo Poorly but that's the point, what is your goal with this comment though, to highlight the issue or just sound petty?

@elbuggo It will seem as though it is painful because you don't pay the external costs of your use of oil but it is certainly not pointless, you just disagree with the point of changing even though the product itself is disappearing very fast, that would be called illogical.

@jimgrady8004 We are in the process of this happening now and coal will still be used after oil goes, for quite a while. If we have passed the peak of easy oil already and it's decreasing at 2% per year when will AO start because that's happening now?

@GetmoreTV Well, you were never told that in the 90's in school because I was told in 80-s that we would have about 75 years left and look where we are, I would like you to prove your deception that you were told these things but as far as europe is concerned, you know they have mountains and why only europe, sea level is global, for instance global decadal warming has doubled in the last decade, we know sea level rise is the fastest and in 3000 years and the warmest in 3 million so where are you getting these schoolyard facts you rely on because the reality of 8.1 mm a year sea level rise in 2022 over the average of 3.4 is happening so I don't mind if you want to call it man made, do you have any answers for what we are seeing and the projection caused by said melting/heating?

@johnfisher7143 Not sure about that, I know when I was a kid it was 75 years and look where we are online, although new discoveries are coming they don't last for long because of how mow much consumption there is. I think you seem to be missing the point of how much energy is in a tank of diesel, this is the point to discuss, not for you to decide whether I can have an air con going 24/7 over summer.
