99.97% of the mass of the atmosphere is only 100k or 62 mile high. If you go above three and a half k you would need breathing apparatus, the point is every bit of stored carbon we are using in the range of 100 million 42 gallon drums daily is being put into this tiny sliver of atmosphere.
In a tank of diesel is the same amount of energy as my total electrical energy for 3,2 months in an Australian summer with the air con going 24-7, if somebody uses a tank a week for a year that is equal to 17 years of my electrical energy. We put this carbon in and it's not 0.04% of the atmosphere, all this mass is around us because of gravity, carbon gas mass, when it's parts per million, it is how many there are per million molecules. One million molecules is a really tiny amount of space, there are trillions and trillions just in the kilogram of air and all the square metres above you. We are now at around 430 molecules of carbon for each and every million sized parcel of air.
Now, radiation from the sun hits the earth, this heat needs to leave again, it travels through us to space again, if there are trillions and trillions of absolute squillions of more molecules that can absorb this heat, it slows down the transfer of heat, and you can not add to any system without it meaning something. The meaning something in this case is when God was supposedly around he didn't have an Esky so he left all the ice, that cools us to this temperature, roughly what we have had 15,000 years, he/she left it all out in the open.
Now we both believe that you can't add energy/heat to a system like that without it meaning something. They can of course work out what is coming and the way we are going it will be total destruction of everything you've known, should you call that alarmist I am not sure but it's the speed we are talking about this time. The temps they think we are going to go to because of this increased forced radiation has been on the earth before, and plants and animals lived. That time it took 700,000 years to reach that temp, this time they reckon we will do it in one thousand years, to a temp that nothing alive today has experienced and might mean instead of the average temperature of the earth being 15 it might be 30.
As we have taken millions of years to adapt and humans are now alive at a temperature that no human has experienced, in fact 3 million years, this isn't alarmist nonsense, this is something the sooner older people stop saying things they can't explain their way out of logically, the better. I understand change is hard considering something that is classed as normal your whole life has to change but the truth is there if you want to see it.
The powers that be would rather lie and keep everyone slaves than lose or change themselves, they are more likely afraid of total collapse if they finally told the real truth. The truth is windmills aren't going to stop the next 30 years because of the lag affect and of course for you that will be ok, myself probably as well. I will say again, we can not add energy to a system without it meaning something, just because you might not fully understand the whole issue does not in any way mean this is climate alarmism, what you should be more concerned with is the lack of alarm and why, imo.

"Bank" not banks, the RBA, the banks fund us. It's unsettling to realise that debt is created at around 4 cents per hundred dollars to create and we pay it back with our lives, full value.
Edit I suppose we fund them with money borrowed from commercial banks, to pay their borrowings, half our life's work efforts go towards the govt through income, fuel, gst "taxes" just to take money out of the system, instead of making our lives easier by doing less, absolutely crazy system.but we have to understand "they" have been trading thousands of years with money and promissory notes and we were born into a debt based system thinking money is valuable without understanding it is just banker debt. Can you imagine any Australian politician coming out and truly explaining money, it makes me think business interests need the dumbest people at the "top"

Rich people do not hoard or store money depriving us, because they know it is debt and debt always has an interest rate applied so it must be working for you or it devalues.
Money is debt, rich people can get into debt a lot easier because they have other assets, money is inputted into the system through loans that they can get any time they want, yes there might be a trickle down with the things they buy but mostly they buy assets which make money, like a business or property, that we are paying rent to.
As more money ( debt) enters the system, then prices for these assets are an indication of the amount of debt that has gone through the property. All money in the world is based on debt and the prices for property, that money does not actually exist, as all money is debt, as soon as the loan is taken out and paid off that money does not exist.
Then what can happen is a place might have a fire, it might be a windy day, 8 or 9 fires might somehow start at the same time in different places, the state insurance company will cancel fire insurance a few months before, the reservoir that has had funding for ten years remains undone and unfilled even though last year was the wettest and they would all be full. Then during a drought and major warnings from all fire departments the mayor will go away on a goodwill trip to Ghana, after donating all spare fire equipment to Ukraine. Along with that the Governor will be trying to make the place multi density for high-rises but of course was getting a lot of pushback considering the area and the neighbours, then what can happen is the banks or Blackrock because that's what has happened in Hawaii after the fires, will either repossess or give a low ball offer and because a company like Blackrock, the 1% rich people, they can then get loans for more debt, which we peasants call money.

@Betweoxwitegan Oh you are silly, an increased amount of money is inflation, more debt into the system means the money supply is inflated. A silly notion that public housing will bring down house prices is just absolutely ridiculous, sorry.
You have an opinion, but this is not fact, you are wrong, hovt spending, because it is all new money can only increase the money supply, inflation is not just a rising of prices on its own, it is because of the increased money supply, which you seem to be ignoring, quite confidently, but incorrectly.
edit the only way more money isn't inflationary is because more taxes, which don't pay for govt spending, as Richard says.

@Jack-bs6zb In a way it will make the poor richer, the divide won't be there as much so even though most people in this chat would be able to buy any food item from anywhere in the world, almost any product, people still think they are poor. If it's UK they have one of the most beautiful country's in the world and still think they are poor, because of the divide.
The world needs direction to a better way than mindless investment that overall achieves nothing towards making things cheaper or easier. The goal is to keep everyone enslaved to money, which is bank debt and money being just a product, we all believe the power to buy all these things will continue while the world says uh uh, so it really depends on how you define prosper.
The goal now should be to raise general wellbeing, food shelter and medical care is such a small part of what we do, yet that's all we need, investment, for a job, is pointless.

The removal of oil, either forced or by choice will mean an incredible change in everybody's attitude including politicians. This will happen in your lifetime and we are the customers of those vested interests and nobody is going to replace something we didn't create or pay the external costs of, yet.
I don't know anybody that has spent less, refused pay rises, not looked forward to a holiday, so let's not ignore our part in the system. There will be no replacement for something they didn't create, 6000 products come from oil and it surrounds us, single use plastic comes from the same barrel diesel does and people still plan driving holidays.
Change will happen when it runs out or we stop using the products by choice which no one I know seems to do. I disagree it's not about attitudes, if people realised that other people have been killed for oil and how bad it will become, just so they can go for a drive, it changes things. People just don't know and are kept ignorant by the state, at least change the attitude of working dead end jobs, of wasting energy towards things that aren't sustainable, mindless debt that we call money, let's at least change those things and see instead of blaming people we are customers of and calling them greedy instead of looking at ourselves.
Saying they should have a replacement so we can just carry on is where the problem lies as "they" have none and if we want one of the products from oil what do we do with the other 5999?
The attitude of people being self sufficient could change and the problem will be less for them, especially considering people are asking for change from those they should expect it from the least, a change in that attitude would be a great start.

I used to be vegan and "eat less meat" is an example of big business corrupting society. If i eat the daily recommended amount of meat it equals from memory 15 cows over 60 years, I don't eat caged which is chicken, pigs and fish, and don't eat lamb a lot so always beef.
We, as in humanity feed more crop waste to animals than food we grow for them, the eat less meat is the reason chicken has barely moved in 20 years. Red meat and fat is now my friend, it has meant weight loss and better health, humans as they grow older absorb less protein so stick to the recommended amount, daily it helps with muscle retention that veganism couldn't do. Vege's are less nutritious, microplastics per gram of food in the hundreds of thousands and half the damage done to our bodies is supposedly from the sprays that are put onto them and in them.
Calories in and calories out aren't the thing when it's beef fat, or full cream, the lies of food companies have changed public perception based on a biased study that didn't control all things. Red meat for the win now, cream in coffee instead of milk, the feeling of fullness means less calories and kgs of food to get the same thing.
If I tell an older diabetic friend I can turn his life around in two weeks he doesn't believe me and now I'm leaner he says I have a higher metabolism and I tell him, I'm as shocked as you but fat storage and accessibility is easier when fat is in your diet and not seed oils, but he's too scared because he doesn't want to make his doctor upset while he takes his muesli with fruit and oat milk in the morning and after five years he's down five kg, I try to tell him have a fat meal in the morning but he's fully convinced if he has a steak it will kill him. It's all madness based on food companies lies what people think is healthy and eat less meat, directly subsidises it.

As every single cent has a corresponding amount of debt, somewhere, money is the belief that we are progressing, it is debt but we use that as a means of exchange. As it is all debt and we need to earn it before we are allowed to exist, this is not wealth or progress. It is a misunderstanding of money being of value more than what it really is, banker debt that we use as a means of exchange, it is the need for it that is designed by the govt that holds us back from true progress, it is the ignorance of what it is and it is the lack of belief in a direction that we all agree on that is needed to supersede money. We do things now because we think banker debt has value, and we have given it more value than it deserves.
The choice, to go another way, and the will, is all we need for progress, to raise general well being.

They work for the central bank, bringing in a wealth tax might devalue the property and the idea of property as a debt hole is the value goes up, not down. If they can't get a higher revaluation they may not get as much new money. As all money id based on debt, them having the charge their tenants more won't pull up the middle class and will hurt the poor the most.
I would say define " country will sort itself out" because the way I see it people don't understand money is bank debt, ask for a tax that as the channel shows removes money from society, so relatively the same inequality will exist just with a lower amount.
This whole "needs" has to stop, there is a ruling class that still rules and people don't understand the rules, that all money is bank debt, each dollar you own is bank debt so if the country is going to sort itself out then it needs to choose a direction, it doesn't need money, it needs an understanding of what it is, banker debt and we pay them with our lives efforts and get nothing in return.
There is no band aid to fix things, no lowering the deficit which removes money from society, creating more poverty. There has to be a general understanding that this product we are forced to have, that has an interest rate applied, doesn't have to be this way. It is ultimately choice and we aren't making the choices, people who have controlled our lives since we are born, for profit, instead of making society better, they care about creating demand for the products they sell, that is all.

How does the govt benefit off tax if tax doesn't pay for anything?
I will repost what I said to another denier below, if you have any questions please ask.

We are not in a cooling cycle if the melt is quicker and sea level rise is increasing in speed, if the sea level rise is increasing as it is a cooling cycle must be impossible. I understand because of the age of Richard he might have an older crowd but to say all satellites are lying must mean you aren't serious in your comment or uninformed correctly.

Give almost half the world an extra five dollars a day and they could double their consumption, this isn't a lot of money, but all money is debt, how will somebody who gets ten dollars a day be able to raise debt.
As all money is debt, if the debt is paid back, the loan, it doesn't exist anymore, that money doesn't exist any-more. Money doesn't build up in the system and currently there is not the money for the value of the real estate. Growth, is only more money, and all money is debt so it's not less room to grow, its less debt being able to be entered into, especially for housing as its so expensive.
For the Uk to not fall behind it would have to show it can now do without money and survive off the embedded energy already put into society.
The thing we have to realise is we did all this for banker debt and now have nothing valuable in a real sense to show for it,
2
-
People who have the ability to work are able to get loans because they can pay them back, a govt is able to say we will take a percentage of our constituents life's efforts in taxes so any money printed by the central bank, debt, is able to be given back. Because all new loans/debt is new money, that money needs to leave again or it builds up as taxes make money not exist anymore. Money is not like gold in that it does not build up, it is debt and therefore works on a basis of negative zero, they are always trying to get the loan back to zero, the debt as soon as it leaves the bank and hits an account, that is what we call money, we spend our lives around it and do all the things we do because of it, imagine we are fish in a pond that has water always pouring into it, the water must leave again or it floods while we fish carry on with our lives.

@Pinkdam When we have massive amounts of obesity and people starving to death, just because of how much debt they hold or basically where they are born and then say "we should just leave it all to choice" is not really a democratic decision that I would expect to be a choice in aggregate by the public if they were given it. Saying we should leave it to choice whether virgins are beheaded to make sure the crops are good this year and saying the entire democratic way of life depends on being able to make the choice and keeping the old way of doing things does not have a leg to stand on, saying we can make informed decisions makes no difference to people dying from too much or too little food and I find it disgusting you would belittle the subject down to just a few people overweight, the massive amounts of over consumption, just because you have money, while others starve, is ultimately undemocratic as the people who are starving don't have any choice. The world has a distribution problem, not a supply problem, last year the world produced enough food for everyone to gain weight, choice shouldn't enter it at all, not whether people get basics or not.

@Freesurfer688 I wrote this to a couple of other people, I think it explains it clearly
99.97% of the mass of the atmosphere is only 100k or 62 mile high. If you go above three and a half k you would need breathing apparatus, the point is every bit of stored carbon we are using in the range of 100 million 42 gallon drums daily is being put into this tiny sliver of atmosphere.

@howardosborne8647 I am not sure why you think this pertinent, cattle are carbon neutral for the metahne they emit in this country and many more. If a bog produces methane and it produces a certain amount each year because methane is gone after 80 years the bog or cattle, if the herd size has not increased has not increased warming. Did I not just say the temperatures were hotter too, if Co2 was higher an the temps were higher, what is it that you are proofing to me? Ohhh how lush it was, yep animals and plants, none of those are alive today, maybe the crocodile, which where I am is moving south because the waters are getting warmer. They don't have crocidiles everywhere but as the water is getting warmer their habitat increases in size. This is not hearsay, this is fact, so an animal like a crocidile knows the planet is warming why don't adult humans?

@blackbulldog4897 ps : Is draining society of debt draining "it of its net financial assets"
I had a problem with the wording because then we would have to agree debt is an asset.
All the embedded energy that is in society would still exist, the buildings, roads water filtration plants, all these would still exist without money so then once all money is removed, which I am all for, which industries would people still want and the people are the asset then. So yeah, I don't agree with the wording of its financial assets because a lot remains as assets and if money does leave society which as you say us just debt to banks, when it should be debt to society, then how does debt to society become the real value.
We got into a lot of debt, for a long time to people who don't really care, getting rid of this debt to "them" could be the best thing to wash down the drain once and for all.

t's not the carbon, it's the heat that comes from the sun and must leave again otherwise...the earth heats up. Adding carbon traps radiant heat and what we use to cool the earth, ice, melts when it gets warm because its out in the open. Average global temp 14 degrees, they are talking 30 as a global average morning and night and because we are adding more carbon that the earth can absorb, the temp increase's and that ice melts. Nothing to do with carbon per se, other than adding more of it traps more heat.
If you can't understand basic physics you shouldn't have an opinion on something where the last time it happened it supposedly wiped out 86% of all species, the issue is we don't know if we will be the first 10%. Please I implore you, the biggest thing big tobacco could do to slow down the decline in sale was to create doubt, don't do big oils job as they took over the same tactics. At the very least educate people but the ranges we are looking at, and you are right plants loved it in the time of the dinosaur, but it wasn't cold and that was 66 million years ago, people are worried we are going there much much sooner and that nothing will adapt so it's more about the risk you are taking with these sort of words, just for people to believe you, are you able to be five percent wrong, because if what is said that is around the corner and already here, then I would say you should look at the data because you are steering yourself and others the wrong way.

@drscopeify How can you say with any shred of honesty that Biden hasn't been feeding the MIC money since day one, that is what AMerica and all its debt is known to be spent on, USA goaded Japan after sanctioning them and cutting off oil, USA had been bombing "them"for 10 years before 9-11, Ukraine 8 years before Russia stood up in 22.
USA is 4% of the world and has a military equal to the next 9 countries all put together, what on earth are you saying, that this does not exist?
The American war where USA took over after the French left, got the most corrupt politician they could back and there has not been a military conflict since world war 2 where USA has been attacked, they hold a third of Syria, well now all of it and Americans have been using oil foreign people have been killed over, for decades. To say something doesn't exist when the whole world knows it and is the cause of the 20-30 million deaths since the end of ww2 and is the main reason most of the world is pissed off at it and rightly so, it has been the worlds largest warmonger for the last 80 years.
I understand you might be American but stop drinking the cool aid, the invasions around the world are all US backed and the military complex is not doing this altruistically.

@3nertia We could agree but because capitalism means the means of production is in private hands, meaning if you want something made and will pay for it then it can be made no matter what it is or how much pollution it emits. ANy other system where the government directs what gets produced is of course different but the thing that we must separate is the debt based system and capitalism as they are different.
I agree being able to make just about anything we can, just because, without any direction is a problem but I think any other system that is based on debt, without direction is where it would fail too. Point being, unless we can agree on a direction, money whether it be bitcoin, gold or fiat, we will still end up with the same problems.
Not the best description, regarding what we are talking about but the thing we must get people to understand, is the debt based system we spend our lives around. Debt they create at a cost of four cents per hundred dollars.

@zodd67 On reality that you could have checked before asking, As far as UK is concerned it is supposed to get unable to grow crops so will only be non arable land, the land we don't spray, going to all crops for food is not wise. We get far more from animals than just food though, wool, milk, gelatine to hold together toilet paper, fats that go into plastic like this device, activated carbon to filter water, leather, all these need a grown replacement, there isn't the arable land available to go crop based and get all that we get now.

@zodd67 Soy is a great one where metrics can confuse the issue. humans use 92% of the human usable part of soy, 6% whole bean, animals use 7% whole bean, the 87% is processed into oil of which animals take 1%, so animals take 8% of the human usable part but take 99% of the waste, same as all seed oils, the have seed cake that will get fed to chickens, fish, pigs mostly. By weight of the total product animals eat I think I've seen it as 87% of soy, yeah but most of that is indigestible by us. It's a statistic dressed up as the truth. If USA all animals are around 5% of emissions and beef around 65% of that, considering meat is around half of what we get and all the other things are quite energy dense any new system has to dhow it can reduce that percentage and replace all that we get. Agriculture is the same percentage if US and the around a third of corn that all animals take is not going to replace all that we get.
We could compost the waste, it would still emit to the atmosphere and people have tried to process it into food but it's a lot of energy when animals do it for basically free. " We" as in the collective.

Rich people can get into debt a lot easier because they have other assets, money is inputted into the system through loans that they can get any time they want, yes there might be a trickle down with the things they buy but mostly they buy assets which make money, like a business or property, that we are paying rent to.
Rich people do not hoard or store money depriving us, because they know it is debt and debt always has an interest rate applied so it must be working for you or it devalues

Money is debt you have to understand where it originates 1st, rich people can get into debt a lot easier because they have other assets, money is inputted into the system through loans that they can get any time they want, yes there might be a trickle down with the things they buy but mostly they buy assets which make money, like a business or property, that we are paying rent to. @maplin007 It is easier to keep it simple and call it what it is, debt. We use debt as a means of exchange, yes, as you say it has value because of this reason but that is the debt based system that people were born into, that what the debt is based on can pay off the loan.
In the govt's case they can never run out of money because they have their own banks, so if they wanted to they could get their grass cut by people with nail clippers and pay them 200 dollars an hour, this of course would raise inflation or at the very least a guild of nail clipper grass cutters. Yes the point is to take as much of your time through having to earn this debt to get food etc, and because everything is relative, paying some people too much for too long, or all the profits of our efforts going to 1%, who don't care for us, has problems.
Now imagine all money in the world is bank debt, losing value every second because they input more debt, as money is a product.

@maplin007 The 1% have the most debt flow through them because of our actions, sure they accumulate more of it but it is all ultimately our actions that provide these things AND we are forced into this system from an early age, as soon as we enter the schooling system controlled by them, as you say your time is taken because of this system, based on growth, that has basically finished. The only reason to be happy is if the system of continual debt, and govt debt is taken out by taxes so high govt spending high taxes, is that those people who think their 250k job or multi million property will still keep its value, will have further to fall.
As long as you understand debt or rather other people's debt, is what we call money, the 1% holding all our debt and us working for them for no goal, no betterment of society, is turning out to not be in our best interests.

@richardharvey1732 Epicentre or epidemic?
We don't need to control money, we need to control the system humans live in. Money could be done away with, should be done away with and we all have a carbon value we can spend per day. Most people of course have to stop working and we go to a rolling public service jobs for each person in their life but controlling the human system is easy, if given the chance.
We have spent our lives paying off debt thinking it had value, electricity in the UK is 15.68% of total energy used and renewables are around 2% of total energy, point being unless we stop working and thinking money can be exchanged for unlimited energy, the whole thing is done.
Of course, it would mean a policy of less jobs, that shouldn't be a hard sell, tell 90% of the world they will get food, shelter and medical care for free but you have to stop working and live a low impact life and it would be a step up, would people vote for a policy of less jobs and a complete reset though?
PS : Even an energy value would work, people get all these for free, do not work except five or however many tears each person has to be in the three trades. they get an energy value that could mean the same products are still sold, fly to the moon, 200,000 credits better save up if you only get given 2000 a month.

@physiocrat7143 I have had a fridge running, my entire life, I have had hot and cold running water at the turn of a tap and a toilet that takes away my number two's and have had electricity, my entire life, this is what I call, white privilege.
it is a systemic failure and breakdown if other people don't have these things, have never had any of these things, if a fridge means a medicine stays viable and you have no electricity and die then it goes beyond a tax system and I am in disagreement about why poor people are poor, they are an integral part of the debt based system in the UK but I am talking global, this is not just one part, about just what is important to Europe, or the church.
Unless you have taxes on jobs how does the money leave the system again?

@downshift4503 " I disagree, I think it is time to offer basics for free. Food, shelter and medical. Jobs are just more money and consumption goes down the same path that has and has to decrease. Young people need a person who will go on a platform of less jobs, not more"
I believe if you offered people shelter, food and medical care, for free, for the rest of their lives billions of people would leap at the chance, if they had to work five or so years during their life in these three industries so be it. Emissions from food is 10% in a place like USA, add medical. shelter and services, then we could cut emissions by roughly 80%, if everybody stayed home. In a place like UK electricity is 15% of total energy and half of that is gas, we could cut that in half, stay home and emissions are reduced within an election term 60% minimum,

Energy comes to the earth and must leave again, if radiant heat is trapped, which it is by adding stored carbon, then not hard to work out it will warm up, we leave what cools us, ice, out in the open. We can slow it down, all of this is just choice but warmer temps are happening increasing water vapour, no statistics agree with you, of course we can affect it, as we do, stopping what we do must also have an affect.

@snowiecat456 We use oil every day that other people have been removed from living. Don't think it is other people, your actions if they continue to drive, use roads, any nylon, any oil product, we talk of compassion while wearing the oil and resources that has happened through war since time began, this computer is from that oil, then we talk about how compassionate we can be, is hypocrisy and guilt over understanding why things are done for us, our system, that we try to excel in. How many people will stop using the products before compassion?

What is the debate you are proposing because I don't see one in your comment, I see someone say the mmt model has no argument against it and if they did it would be like talking to a flat earther so at the risk of that I would like put to forward one or two.
It costs around 4 cents per hundred dollars to create this debt, we pay it back full value, with our lives and efforts.
The issue with creating debt out of thin air and calling it money and other people think it is valuable is if the world says I don't want to hold American money anymore or UK and like Brics, will take value for value of goods and in a world where goods may be the only things valuable, that holding something that is just a means of exchange, backed by nothing but our belief, that can have issues.
The other issue is this debt is being created, it enters the economy as money spent by govts, where we have no choice where that spending goes, we are supposed to wait for the trickle down and be happy, that money or energy could have been directed in any way, it doesn't really matter if we all stood on our heads, as long as the money enters it must leave again but to say all this effort from us the public to be forced to earn bank debt, to exchange it to live has issues that need to be discussed more than it's the economy, nothing to see here, let's move on.
I think it would surprise a lot of people that money doesn't build up in the system, that taxes make money disappear, the public education system teaches people to get a job, just to earn debt. For all the value of the property in the Uk, there isn't the money to buy it. Most people think they have to just get some money because there's so much of it, they don't realise for new money to come, new debt must be made, give people that belief that all money is bank debt, I doubt as many people would steal it.
There's certainly debates to be held around this term what we call money and the lack of understanding amongst the public and why we should let that continue without directing that energy towards sustainability or the health service but surely we could do better than war and real estate.

@ China is one of those countries that will lose half, that is 5-600 million people gone, if the gross domestic value stays the same, say with inflation in that time, the GDP per capita will double while they produce zero growth in overall value so in this case GDP per capita could be deceptive.
We need to have, in my opinion, growth mean that every single person has food, shelter and medical care, in the world and stop looking at how much a country increases production in a world that has stopped growing, almost.
If the world is a business and the next 80 years there is 40% growth rate of customers instead of 400% over 80 years, then growth during a great settling that humanity seems to have coming is a wrong goal.
