@vidiad Fertiliser, plastic, asphalt, synthetic clothes etc, etc as they all come from the same barrel as petrol and diesel.

@vidiad You don't get nylon unless you get diesel, you don't get any of the products out of a barrel of oil without the rest being refined. Because it's by heat gas comes off first, then you get the rest until all the way at the bottom you have asphalt. if you want to get to nylon and polyester you have to class the rest as waste and bury it or burn it.

And because all our products are oil based, nylon, to rubber and plastic and asphalt, if we want diesel gone, all those things come from the same barrel. With electricity being 20% of our energy consumption and able to be replaced with renewables/replaceables we can move forward with coal and reduce 80%

Nuclear can never replace oil, it can't create asphalt, plastic, nylon, everything other than electricity that surrounds you that is oil based now. As electricity is only 20% of our energy consumption we could make all electricity 100% green/nuclear and we would have only fixed 20 percent the problem, we could stay on coal and reduce 80%, also is nuclear when sea levels and water tables are rising so quick a viable plan?

@vidiad You don't get nylon, polyester or anything oil based, clothes sure but cotton needs diesel and gas for fertiliser..
