The US dollar is still 50 percent of the world currency amount, that was created at a cost of 4 cents per hundred, I think with that sort of mark up they will be fine, the petro dollar is 10 percent of the use of the dollar, not all people have stopped using it but even if all US dollars were taken out of oil it would affect it by 10 percent, I am pretty sure US can handle that drop.

@pkaltchev1 When in Rome do as the Italians do. The dollar could lose 96 percent of its value and the people issing it haven't made a loss, they are 4 percent of the world and consume 25 percent of the worlds energy because people take these dollars, even if they reduce or reduced to 4% of the worlds energy/currency that would be a 625 percent decrease, and they would still be fine. American hegemony is bad, compared to the past or the future?

@ErkanS13 Any central bank has this ability, all being pegged to the dollar, creating more dollars in any country devalues that value of course, if the taxes/interest don't remove them.

@paulaheady8990 All money is created from debt, if US debt is half of all money AMericans are lucky most of it is held outside of the country, it's 12th in the world as far as food. petrol is cheap and the availability of being able to live a good life, in the country, growing your own food has probably one other place for more freedom to do and that would be russia but all money is debt and if there is more of it then it has to go somewhere and property is a good sink for it, not for people living in them but for the spice to flow it must go somewhere, shame it's not through medical etc though.

@TerryAShaw And if every other dollar is pegged to it, what would that mean overall to us?

@brianlowe3529 If you produce the chips at 4 cents per hundred dollar chip, you don't mind if the Casino just has American players, to think no other players will want those chips instead of using their own countries, is probably going a bit far.

@Ablodiallo1 Unless they are going to be burnt then they will still exist. If somebody uses these already and they get excahnged for the uan etc then China, India, Russia holds those notes. They could sell bons as long as they give a return and people will still buy them, or they do a Japan and but themselves, removing them like a stock buyback, increasing the value, so countries would still hold.

@Damn6real The dollars aren't going to disappear, if you want yaun to be 52% of the worlds currency then the debt issued would need to beat the americans and then you have inflation. Dominance in what way? More of it? higher purchasing power meaning less trade? What is it that you think will happen, it feels as though people are conflating racist overtones to saudi arabia saying we will take payment in anything you want to pay us. America isn't going to stop buying in US dollars and the Saudis aren't saying they'll refuse them.

@Damn6real The saudis aren't saying they are refusing us dollars, just that they'll take payment in anything. US still uses 25 percent of the world energy, lets say another 25 percent are still going to use US dollars and the petro dollar is 10 percent of US dollar use, then you are only talking about 5 percent of the US dollar, which will be used elsewhere. Not sure what you are waiting for or what you think it will mean.
