It's hypocrisy to say we are listening then still happily be the customers of these interests. There is about 3 months of my electrical energy in a tank of diesel, in an Australian summer, with the air con going 24/7. We all have the power to stop driving, for pleasure, holidays, going to restaurants, ice cream, or just a sunday drive, but how many people do you know who have actually stopped driving. How many people do you know who are consuming less than they did 30 years ago, how many people less than they did 2 years ago, 2 weeks ago or any time, that haven't spent more as they earned more, anybody?

@deemo5245 100% agree. When ad's are around saying fly around the country to follow or see your sports team and people do and driving holidays are in people's psyche, without a second thought or retiring with a motorhome, fifth wheel, caravan etc, or even the rise of getting food delivered instead of cooking at home, these aren't actions of people listening.

What's remarkable to me is that everybody is keeping on doing what they were doing. I still hear people looking at the past and how that is supposed to mean something for the future, we know there are lag times between gas emissions and temperature of decades and that half the carbon has been emitted in just the last few decades, everything we have emitted then has yet to come but still people think going for a driving holiday is a good idea.

@anthonymorris5084 If it's natural or man made it doesn't really matter, pre 2010 till now the earth has had a 155% increase in decadal warming, if it keeps increasing as the graphs are showing that would be close to 5 degrees by 2100, even if this isn't manmade isn't it still something to talk about and that things won't be fine with such a sudden increase in temperatures that have only been seen during mass extinction events?

@anthonymorris5084 Decadal warming has increased by this much. It used to be 0.18 per decade then went 55% up to .28, then just these last couple of years has jumped another 55%. If this continues into the future even at a 55 percent increase every decade you can see where it's going and of course we know what that means as far as temperatures and ice/ flooding.

What if you are actually in it? Not sure of the percent that have gone or close to going in the last 80 years but we had a 400 percent increase in world population in that time, the next is supposed to be around 40 percent, other than heating other things are going to settle a bit and the peak of species lost could have reached its peak or we are close to it.
