The EU doesn't care about Serbia at all. It's a small, poor and insignificant country. It is also poorly aligned with EU values.

There isn't much alignment of values between the EU and Serbia at present, which makes the whole matter of EU membership moot. The EU is well aware of sentiments in Serbia.

The EU is a club of countries that identify with EU values. Those that don't should leave so they don't have foreign values forced on them.

The EU expanded as much as it could, the rest is not worth it seems.

What makes you think the gas pipeline will transport any gas at all? It doesn't matter what gas deals Hungary made with Putin.

@mirekslechta7161 I would let immigrants decide that and the EU and US are top destinations for immigration, unlike your totalitarian beloved Russia. I understand there are people among us who align more with Russian totalitarian values and would love to turn liberal democracies into totalitarian hellholes as that's the political system they feel comfortable in. Those people will defend Putin at every corner, indirectly if needed and are easy to identify thankfully.

@Otpisani12 Serbia has zero potential simply because Serbs pick wrong role models. Instead of learning from successful countries they choose to learn from unsuccessful ones. Unlike Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania it didn't join the EU yet because of poor alignment with EU values and too much nationalism. Highly skilled Serbian workers who wish to live in the West (instead of waiting for yet another generation, who don't fall for Russian propaganda) are welcome to apply for work in the EU. We in the EU understand the more highly skilled workers we attract, the more successful we will be. Serbia has learned nothing over the last 100 years and is still poor just as it was back then. Conservative cultures never build a successful country as they are incapable of reforms and innovation.

That argument might fly in Russia but not in the West.

Nope, only pro Russian propagandists spread that message. Slovakia, Czechia,Poland have almost nothing in common with Russians.
