@gregbeyer9507 Trust in Russia can only be restored if the clique currently in power there steps down which won't happen. Invasion of Ukraine was a wake up call for many. It solidified support for NATO and EU.

@Lagiacrus1996 Both social democrats and communists are socialists. They differ in opinion on how socialism should be achieved. That was the reason of their split in early 20th century. Communists wanted to spread socialism through series of revolutions when proletariat would seize power and install communist party dictatorship. Social democrats took the more civilized option of reaching socialism step by step by democratic means. However as we see by now it isn't really working, which is why they swapped the class struggle narrative with green agenda and another issue that cannot even be discussed on Youtube.

@AaronOkeanos It's a left wing country even by European standards. I live in Czechia and in Germany I would probably have noone to vote for as CDU is center-left for me.

Why Germans want less freedom and more regulation?

@elwray3506 I don't want the government to decide what's best for me. It's staggering Germans vote for more regulation during a Covid pandemic when governments seek to control many aspects of people's lives unheard of before. It seems Germans are willing to trade their freedom in exchange for shelter and food, just like domestic animals.
