  1. The problem of tech is companies hire very clever people and if you're not good then you're going to suffer terribly and be overworked. A senior engineer can complete the same task in 1/3 - 1/2 of the time it would take for an associate engineer, not to even mention code quality. The difference between people who know the code base can be even larger. Working remotely is becoming more frequent which makes it even more difficult for beginners as they can't easily ask for help and it's more complicated to help them grow.
