Yup it is. I live in Czechia and stand 100% behind the EU on this matter.

@MyVinnyp Collaboration in the EU strengthens liberal democracy. PiS and Orban are corrupt and want to replace democracy with dictatorship, they must go.
21
@MyVinnyp You will have to read ECJ ruling. It will have all the details on what EU treaties are being violated. Polish PM is a liar.
12
@MrLaci0110 You don't know what democracy entails. You wouldn't support Orban / PiS if you did. If you want a dictatorship that's fine, just don't lie to your countrymen.
7
@stevencharnock9271 ECJ is the court that decides on EU treaty violations. All EU members signed up for it when they joined the EU.
6
@casteretpollux Populists want to dismantle democracy, but to do that they need to dismantle the EU first. The number of people they can fool is shrinking by the day. Nothing good will come out of populists.
4
Czechia is better in that regard.
2
@женягуньков I understand. I wouldn't stay there either. Czechia/Slovakia are much more friendly towards fellow Slavs from the east. I would recommend you give one of these two countries a try.
2
Same in Czechia and Slovakia. You need to find a way to force them not to vote or vote differently than for PiS. They have been ruining our countries ever since they were born. They have to vote the way you want.
2
@pineapplesareyummy6352 It's on purpose. The EU is a guardian of liberal democracy and therefore mortal enemy of all populists.
2
@Diabolo0011 That person could even be Putin's bot sitting in St. Petersburg. Don't take these comments seriously.
1
@kingc8531 The EU is a guardian of liberal democracy, which is why populists are trying hard to destroy it.
1
@Ready For Anything. That's what fascists claim here.
1
@javadream1852 All fascists are dangerous, regardless of nationality.

Oh Polish businesses do. Fine should be subtracted from EU funds granted to Poland. That means fine takes priority over any funds you get. The difference is to be paid by Polish government putting strain on your budget.
1
@doubleinfinityx2476 That's absolutely fine. The EU could stop all EU funds and send Poles home. If Poland won't honor it's obligations don't expect the EU to honor theirs. They are not dumb. Poland is a free country and there are other alternatives like a close union with Belarus, Russia, China.
1
EU membership comes with certain restrictions Poland agreed to.
1
@doubleinfinityxdoubleinfin7249 That's your own opinion and that's fine. However ECJ has a say on these matters and you signed up for it. Therefore a fine is necessary. I support it 100% as someone who lives in Czechia. Do not be deluded your neighbors are with you on this matter.
1
@doubleinfinityxdoubleinfin7249 It's not just Czech Republic, don't count on Slovakia or Baltic states either. You can only count on Hungary, Belarus, Russia and China. It's your choice if you want to be part of that club instead. We stand on the side of law and order which is the EU. If Poland thinks it can ignore that there will be fines to pay for sure.
1
And oust PiS so they can rejoin. It's them who must do the house cleaning at home.
1
@stevencharnock9271 You need to talk to ECJ and explain it to them... Write them an email and they will give you all the details you need...
1
@stevencharnock9271 That's unnecessary. If a member state stops abiding by treaties it signed, the EU is free to do the same and will suspend EU funds. It's exactly the same as with EU-UK trade agreement. You cannot possibly believe the EU will keep funding Poland forever.
1
@Steven9567 Here mostly uneducated, unsuccessful and bigoted people would prefer the EU to disintegrate. Joining that destructive group would be extremely counter productive. It's exactly the same group communists built their power upon and nothing good came out of it. We learned our lesson.
1
@stevencharnock9271 It depends on how serious the breach of rule is. This one is not going to be ignored by the EU for sure.
1
@Steven9567 Nope, it's a guardian of liberal democracy as well. Those who stray will face the wrath of Brusseles :-)
1
Wanna bet? :-)
1
@Just_another_Euro_dude That's Kremlin's dream. No thanks we are not interested.
1
EU membership is optional. If Poles hate the EU, it makes no sense to stay in. From the hateful comments it seems they would prefer to leave.
1
@doubleinfinityx2476 Fine means Poland doesn't get 100% fulfillment of EU sponsored projects. That amounts to you paying the fine.
