Those “Jews” were called mischlings, people who were defined by Nazi philosophy as having some “Jewish blood” and some “Aryan blood” The definition had nothing to do with the person self-identifying as Jewish, or being halachically recognized as Jewish. It was an Nazi invented term, nothing more, but was determined by an author to be a legitimate definition of “Jew” in order to sell a book, and by those who support Hitler to claim “See, Hitler didn't hate all Jews.”. There were roughly 500,000 “legitimate” Jews in Germany when Hitler took power. That was reduced by about 50% by the time the War started. The claim that “150 000 German Jews who fought in the Wehrmacht” would mean that over half the Jews who could not escape Nazi Germany ending up fighting for it is totally absurd.
