@sondrejohansen48 In a real war though, the CSG wouldn't be conveniently locked in an arbitrary box for the submarine to stalk. Turns out, ASW training isn't very effective for either side if the submarine can never find or catch the carrier. The great strength of a carrier is the range of its aircraft. It can strike targets 1000 miles away, which means it can operate anywhere in an area that is millions of square miles in size and still perform its mission. Not to mention the Gotland class subs have a max speed of 5 knots when running on their ultra quiet stirling engine. Good luck catching up on a 30+ knot Nimitz
