The Fed actually serves an important function for the government: 1) The welfare state, military spending are constantly growing. 2) If elected officials were to fund welfare and military spending by constantly raising taxes, people would vote them out of office 3) So instead The Fed prints more money to pay for welfare and military spending 4) The resulting inflation is passed down to consumers, reducing their purchasing power and effectively acting as a hidden tax TL;DR the government and The Fed work in tandem, The Fed's function is to squeeze more money from tax payers using inflation. They're nominally separate entities so when voters complain about inflation, politicians can wash their hands and blame it on The Fed.

The problem with illegal immigration is that it floods the labor market with people who are willing to work for less than minimum wage, without benefits, etc. It undercuts American citizens who often can't even legally accept the low wages illegals do. It benefits the 1% and hurts the working class. If Trump were serious about cracking down on this problem he'd be talking about going after American businesses that hire illegals. So far I haven't heard him speak about that, unfortunately.

In a 100% free market they would naturally get competition from other startups.
