@MaybeAGenuineRetard Prior to WWI only wealthy men could vote. Men only got universal suffrage after WWI because of mass conscription. The argument was "if we're forced to fight in wars started by politicians we should at least get to vote on them." Back then, a lot of women were against women's sfusrrage because they feared they'd be subject to the draft too. But then politicians decided to just give women the vote with no strings attached. So even the 1st wave was about equal rights without equal responsibilities (aka privilege)
