@crxdelsolsir The thought on it is simple. Companies are there to compete, not design themselves out of business. Having proprietary design features when you are the first in the business is logical. Tesla uses its own design because they invented it. Same for Apple. You think companies exist to make you happy. They do not. They exist to make their owners happy. Start a business and you’ll get it.

Did you say the charging wires were crossed? There is a common scan where people cross the wires and you pay and plug your car, it doesn’t charge, so you go charge elsewhere. Meanwhile, you just authorized a charge on the one next to you, the one someone else was plugged into (but not actually charging until you just paid for it). You just paid for their charging.

@crxdelsolsir Apple now uses USB-C chargers, as does Samsung. Any other thoughts?

@Muskar2 Not really. Electrify America is the same with VAG vehicles.

@adamkormendi5904 The 14 and now 15, and all the new iPads.

@crxdelsolsir Did you drop out of school or something? You’re quoting things I never said.

@Muskar2 I’m disputing that Tesla is the only company that makes charging a one-step easy process with its own chargers. Electrify America is owned by Volkswagen and so they made it extremely easy for their vehicles. Just plug in the CCS and it charges.

@Muskar2 I see. Okay, but they are always more cumbersome. The failure rate of chargers is actually quite high, every system has wildly different charging speeds, rates and plans, and it always takes a lot longer. I don’t know how my times my work cars (EVs) would start a charge, but them when I come back in the morning I find out the chargers errored out and the car only has 20-30% of the charge. It all seems great, on paper.
