  1. The Maxim’s gun was originally developed in the UK in 1886 as the world’s first heavy machine gun by Hiram Maxim, an American-British born in Maine. It was heavy and water cooled, but at 600rpms and very accurate. The Russians adopted it with few changes and made light and heavy modifications until 1945, but later designs based on it followed. One of the changes was a large radiator cap that could be twisted off by hand, so that snow could be stuffed in for extra cooling. The Maxims are legendary in Russia and are incredibly reliable and deadly. But I guess technically… more American weapons in Ukraine? 😝 The much scarier part is the IZh 27151 catruck it’s mounted on.
