Josh Tavenner Body-on-frame or unibody is a pretty uneducated argument and makes no factual sense. A 1983 Caprice Classic was a body-on-frame. The GC has a V8 with much more power and lower low gearing, is shorter and has a better turning radius. Don’t even start me on its on-road superiority. Plus, the GC has an electronic limited slip diff that locks up when needed or placed into 4LO.

“Stable at high speeds”? Yeah, as long as you’re on perfect pavement. Drove on a highway with some spring pot holes (got an SR5 as a rental) and the thing kicks out its rear end at each one you hit if you’re going above 40mph. No thanks! The GC Trailhawk beats this hands down, on and off-road.

Anomize23 Actually, while body on frame trucks do great at lower speeds and crawling through very deep holes, they do horribly at high speed pot holes. This has been proven countless times. Any engineer will laugh at your comment. You’re the kind of guy who thinks the old steel cars are safer in collisions than modern cars and no amount of science will prove it to you.
