Comments by "afcgeo" (@afcgeo882) on "Russia's smallest town with own tram system built by German POWs" video.
The USSR lost around 27 million in that war (about 8.7 military). Germany lost about 4.8 million (about 4.3 military). The totals are incredible, but the disparity between civilians and military is what tells the story. Germans killed civilians for fun.

No... it was. Most likely in the 1970s or so. The rough Russian weather and erosion destroy outdoor tracks.

@DriftZ TwoSeven No, you being a Nazi, defending Germany’s WW2 atrocities makes you a Neo-Nazi. Genocide of ethnic Germans? You mean they tried to kill all Germans? They must have wiped out all of GDR then. You’re a delusional, insane, Trump-loving Neo-Nazi.

@DriftZ TwoSeven Neo-Nazi alert!!!

Firecraft Pyro You’re incredibly daft. High birth rates were very common in all countries years ago due to a lack of contraceptives and the need to birth progeny to keep the homestead going. The high rare of infant and child mortality in less developed nations means a high birth rate as well. This us to ensure that at least 1-2 sons would grow up.

@dasboot5903 WTF are you talking about? Don’t speak when you don’t know. Seriously. They maybe killed a few hundred of their own. Their ridiculous tactic, however insane, worked. Most soldiers went forward and fought, and won. Despite that, the mass eradications of civilians were very well documented by the Germans in writing, photos and on film. Only a neo-nazi would claim it didn’t happen. Go to Ukraine, Russia or Belarus. See the photos, documents, video. This isn’t pre-historic times we’re talking about. Everything was recorded by all sides. Even the defendants in Nuremberg didn’t deny it happened. They just denied they personally did it.

This this a fairly wide gauge, which adds to stability, and the speeds are low, especially on the bad sections. The drivers know their track and trams extremely well. It’s very safe, though not very comfortable.

Have you looked at the definition? Russia is literally 2nd world. These are Cold War terms. 1st World meant any nation aligned with the US/NATO 2nd World meant any nation aligned with the USSR/Warsaw Pact/Communism 3rd World were the rest.

@APiesc BULLSHIT! The 8.5 million number is the total casualties, which includes military wounded. https://www.britannica.com/event/World-War-II/Costs-of-the-war The highest numbers considered of deaths that include starvation and disease are at 6.9 million, but the German government officially counts 4.3 million military deaths and 0.5-2 million civilian, for a maximum of 6.3 million. https://www.worldatlas.com/amp/articles/wwii-casualties-by-country.html

@heliosthurisaz9017 The tram cars running were built in the 1990s.

@steffenrosmus9177 Those tran cars aren’t that heavy and the wide gauge holds them up very well.

@DriftZ TwoSeven There are no “two sides” here. Germany... every country in Europe agrees on this. It was all very well documented, logged, filmed and photographed. Survivors and soldiers on both sides gave detailed testimony for decades to come. Your neo-nazism is very clear here.

They took the trans out of Moscow this past year.

@warmike Yes, but the tram lines are being reduced too.

@lukespread I agree. I’m very sad New York lost its extensive tram system decades ago.

Literally second world by definition.

@falxus9962 I’m not “generous”. I simply understand the definition of 1st, 2nd and 3rd world terms and you, very clearly, do not. Why don’t you look it up?
1
@Fabian Kirchgessner Yes, Germany. The Axis powers were led and controlled by Germany, excluding Japan.
