  1. I want to unequivocally correct the caller. Transparency is NOT always in the public interest. If releases of legal documents before trials affect the jury poops and fair processes then they are NOT in the public interest. How is releasing criminals on a technicality of “transparency” a good thing for our society? The point of the justice system is to create a process that is fair and balanced to all sides, but publication of information like this usually makes it impossible to fairly try a person.

  6. Because it’s NEVER released as it would create an unfair trial situation, if it comes to that. This is actually for the protection of the accused, not the prosecution. It would also endanger the source of information on which the decision was based. If there was a confidential informant, their info would be released to the accused and the public ahead of trials. That’s how organized crime suppressed their cases - by threatening and killing witnesses.

  10.  @kigman1980  When a President does this, the documents are ACTUALLY, physically and digitally declassified. That means they are marked so in computer systems and on paper. These WERE, STILL classified documents. You obviously have NO clue of how classified documents are handled.

  14.  @FirstNameLastName-wt5to  The warrant shows you that the search was lawful, PERIOD. Whether you like it or not, if a judge issues a warrant, it’s lawful. It’s not your decision, it’s the judge’s. Also, if there is ever a trial, the affidavit WILL be released as a part of court documents. It’s not like it can stay sealed. If you release the affidavit, you get the public seeing evidence before a trial, which isn’t fair to the accused, you get a tainted jury, which isn’t fair to anyone, and you give criminals a chance to suppress and tamper with witnesses.

  15.  @ClockworkGearhead  When classified documents are de-classified, they are no longer in classified handling covers. Also, once something is published it is mo longer classified. The documents at Trump’s place weren’t de-classified. PERIOD.

The passports were taken by accident (they were amidst other documents in the safe, and then immediately returned once they were catalogued. There were three passports, two expired and one valid. The best part is that Trump tweeted about it AFTER the DOJ emailed him that they took them and are returning them.

  20.  @expletivedeleted  That’s false. Justice recognizes that opinion is all you get of “truth”, that every side has its own idea of “truth” and that nothing is 100%. It’s about fairness, not knowledge. If you are in pursuit of facts, go become a researcher.
