@lawrencebraul9722 Actually, most European car makers no longer manufacture Diesels.

@airbus7373 Light duty trucks are much more profitable.

With all the money you’re spending on paint care, you would have been far better off having it properly wrapped.

@airbus7373 That has NOTHING to do with CAFE standards. There are plenty of small CUVs around.

@redey1290 The Dieselgate existed for a reason. Modern Diesels is an oxymoron. Diesels simply cannot meet modern emissions standards. They’re fine for large, commercial applications, but modern gasoline engines have become too efficient to need Diesels in light duty use.

@juliussd5901 European regulations allow smaller cars to tow heavier trailers than in the US.

@juliussd5901 With trailers they do, all the time. Do I see people speed? Yeah! With and without trailers. Do I see people carrying far too much tongue weight? Constantly! No crossed chains? All the time! Americans are generally reckless on roads compared to most (not all, I’m looking at you, Italians) Europeans. The biggest difference between trailering in the US and Europe isn’t the speed or engines. It’s the trailer brakes. Europe requires them on almost all trailers. On the flip side, the US requires that 10% of the trailer’s weight is on the hitch, which allows for greater stability at high speeds (that’s why they drive fast with them, not because of power). Europeans put 4-7% on the hitch, but lower speeds. which combined with brakes allow for much heavier tow ratings. A Jeep Wrangler in Europe is rated to 5000lbs and an identical one in the US to just 3500lbs.

@masterofThardus My Rav4 hybrid does 39mpg combined with my fairly aggressive driving. The torque is about 260.

@aircraft2 I doubt it as Diesel prices are typically 30% higher than regular gasoline. They’re cheaper than gasoline in Europe because of government subsidies toward trucking.

You can rely on it being broken.

@trashrabbit69 You’re joking, right? Ford’s 3-cyl ecoboosts are notorious for blowing head gaskets.
1
@trashrabbit69 ”EcoBoost” isn’t a family of engines. It’s Ford’s term for turbo. Those engines have NOTHING in common with each other. The 3-cyl engine from the Fiesta/ExcoSport was notorious in Europe for the blocks cracking, blown head gaskets and them literally catching fire.
