If’s a very important point. NYC electrical charges are already so high that it ends up being on par with gasoline.

They are marked. There is a sign. The issue is enforcement.
3
@Termnath Or… you should be banned from all cities. Even better!
3
It’s an issue, and will be an issue until these are as frequent as meter boxes. 4 spots per block, every single block ought to do it.
2
@BigNick10 Chargers don’t have anything to do with it. You don’t even know what you’re talking about. A charger is built into the car.
2
@nsxmatt You literally just said you got one because you’re only 3”. Whatever works for you, bud. Maybe lay off the steroids.
2
@djejnyc Where are there Tesla fast chargers in Brooklyn and how much are you paying for the charging? I did some calculations and it was MORE expensive than fuel for my Rav4 hybrid.
2
4 per block would be sufficient for the next few years, I think, so two stations per block, one on each side.
1
@tauzN That’s more like there WILL be no chargers if they can’t get used. These aren’t non-profit businesses. They need high utilization rates to make it worth the investment.

@Termnath I love how your brain can’t comprehend that you don’t have to be a dictator.
1
@Termnath You mean how dictating your opinion onto others is wrong? Go look up WW2 to find out. Maybe look up the Soviet Union too. Meanwhile, try to at least mask your hate for others. Right now you’re not some eco-soldier. You’re a pathetic internet troll.
1
@ab-tf5fl How would you do that? You don’t really have control over charging speed.
1
I get 40mpg in my Rav4 Hybrid though, and it’s far more capable.

@Mkvkuv Tell us more things we shouldn’t own or do.

@Jeddin First off, these EVSEs are all Level 2 AC current. Second, nothing bypasses chargers. Even DC current still goes through the charger before it hits the battery. The charger is what controls the charging. DC current simply bypasses the inverter. Finally, it is the car’s charger thar controls the actual charging rate, not the EVSE. The EVSE simply has the power on tap. If the EVSE is rated for up to 250 kW, but your car can only take 80 kW, then the most it’ll charge at is 80. For example, the Toyota BZ4X maximum level 3 (DC) charging power is 150 kW (FWD) or 100 kW (AWD). It doesn’t matter if the EVSE can put out 500 kW. It’s still not going to charge faster than 150 kW.
1
@BigNick10 No, it’s an EVSE. The charger is built into the car. Go educate yourself BEFORE arguing! While you’re doing that, you can take some time to look up how much batteries ACTUALLY degrade from faster charging (hint: with proper cooling they don’t).
1
@djejnyc Revel charges at 70 kW at their “superchargers”. Do you mean in the Atlantic Center garage?
1
@djejnyc 72kW isn’t much for the larger batteries.

1. Parking is only authorized for EVs (it’s on the street parking sign in the video.) 2. Everyone.
