@rustleweighed-thrasher Yes, so go ahead and look it up! The NYPD alone has 36,000 officers. LA has another 10,000. As of 2020 there are 696,644 full-time sworn law enforcement personnel in the United States. So how stupid do you feel now, trying to mock others for knowing something you don’t?

@rustleweighed-thrasher Here are some statistics for you to chew on… According to the NIH, a firearm is stolen every 90 seconds, with around 380,000 stolen every year. Most are stolen out of cars. Last year the TSA confiscated 5,972 guns at airport security. One gun for every 97,917 passengers. The highest number in history. The Border Patrol confiscated 546 firearms in 2020. The NYPD had recovered over 6,000 firearms in 2021. Philadelphia recovered 5,920 guns that were suspected used to commit crimes in 2021. San Diego seized 1,089 in 2021. Baltimore and DC seized 752 “ghost” guns alone in 2021. On average, around 9,000 guns are seized and destroyed by the federal government each year. In 2021, a single 3 month operation (Pegasus) in Dallas (Pleasant Grove neighborhood) resulted in 47 arrests and over 100 firearms seized. The ATF reported that in 2020, 87,000 time-to-crime (legal to crime under 1 year) were recovered. 68,000 of them were under 7 months time-to-crime. Last year California seized 1,400 guns from people who were banned from ownership alone.

@rustleweighed-thrasher Those are a tiny fraction (just some examples) of what’s confiscated. Of course if your IQ is over 20 then you get that and you’re just acting out like a hormonal 14 year-old.

@STCatchMeTRACjRo Robbery isn’t just one thing. They have classes of it. In Texas it carries a prison term from 2 to 20 years (2nd degree felony), depending on the criminal record and severity of the crime. Being unarmed and having no record got her the minimum 2 years.

@TooManyChoices1 Only if the bank is a member of the FDIC. The federal law on bank robberies has no minimum sentencing set. There are guidelines for sentencing and they take into account a number of conditions to come up with the punishment. If no one was hurt, if no weapon was used, if it is a first offense and a low amount of money was stolen, it’s not unusual to see no prison term at all or a term under 2 years. Real life isn’t the movies. Also, an unarmed robbery of a bank puts ZERO lives at risk. Not condoning it at all, but you’re clearly out of touch with reality.
