  3.  @jamesgizasson  Not an issue of lasting at all. You can’t import something not approved by the DoT or the EPA until it’s at least 25 years old. If you’re okay with a 25 year old example, you can import it.

  4.  @jamesgizasson  The import law has been around for many decades (the 1980’s) and there hasn’t been a reason to change it. The cost of importing is still high and finding a good example is difficult. Your best bet is looking in the Middle East to avoid rust issues. I’d recommend the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar or Bahrain. Cars are generally well kept there, and the roads are mostly flat.
