HW2800 Right thought. Wrong reason. Power seats don’t drain power, as they are rarely used. However, the power seat motors do weigh a bit and ever pound costs range.

Richard Wyse that makes no sense.

SouthJerseySound The problem is that you don’t understand one bit about statistics. Answer this: How many unbroken cars do you tow to the dealership, so you can compare? The answer is: NONE. Unless you know what percentage of cars break against those that don’t, you will NEVER understand how often cars break. Research is showing that the current new car failures in the first 3 years range from 8% for the worst model to 2% for the best. That is the average percentage. It cover ALL mechanical failures. That means that even for the worst car brand on sale in North America today, only 8% of their cars will break down in some way, in the first 3 years. Those are the facts.

Jose Vega nothing is more reliable than an EV. Any EV. They simply have a lot fewer complex, moving parts. They’re not perfect, but as commuter cars, if you have access to the infrastructure, they’re a solid choice. Just watch your electrical rates. They don’t make the same sense everywhere.

Sock Twister There is NO $31k Tesla. Never has been. The cheapest Tesla 3 on sale is listed at $39k.

There’s a great reason for that. Just like Tesla, GM loses money on each EV they sell. This especially comes into play once their sales drop off due to sunsetting of tax rebates. This happened to the first gen Volt as well. These cars are R&D projects that boost corporate image and test new technologies. Chevrolet doesn’t want to sell a ton of these. Most are destined for fleet usage.

LuiBC You should do a bit of research on Holden and the SS. Holden was already slated to close down as all GM production was to seize in Australia. Ford did the same. However, the union contract in place required that the production continue for 2 years. To satisfy that, but also introduce the new, European and Asian built Holdens, GM decided to get rid most of Holden’t inventory in the US. That’s how the Caprice and SS came to be just for 3 model years. GM could not sell more than what was imported and had no desire to boost cars that would be out of production on a set date. They were simply dumping excess inventory.

Oxolotleman That isn’t objective. It’s misleading. You’ve never taken a statistics class, have you?

“Large” refers to the total body mass, not the person’s height or width. It’s also subjective.

@DTD110865 Yeah, it is a bit narrow, but nothing fits everyone.

Because 911 would be a better number? That way they can send actual emergency services instead of administrators a week from the call (if you’re lucky). Of course, the car has no way to verify the reality of the situation and it making a false 911 call would likely eventually cost lives, given how many Bolts are out there and how reliable electronic systems are in cars overall. So maybe a gentle reminder does the job well, and doesn’t add to the burden of emergency services and doesn’t send people to prison for a single mistake.
