  1. What 80% of the current truck owners need is a Camry/Accord. It has nothing to do with need. It’s purely want. They all buy trucks to compensate for their lacking organ size and functionality.

  7.  @devinbender8428  They don’t have anything to do with setting standards. They simply test. The DOT sets the standards and there are set standards for both. You just don’t know them.

  8.  @_zigger_  It’s not their master’s measurement, it’s history. By the time the metric system was invented, all manufacturing and trade measurements in the US were standardized in the Imperial form. Everywhere else, however, all kinds of measurements were used and nothing was standardized. That’s why the metric system took off there, quickly. However, there was no need, but a giant expense, to change over an entire booming economy in manufacturing standards as by the time the metric system was standardized, the US was already the world leader in those sectors. In fact, there are many things that are still standardized in inches and pounds and then just converted into random metric measurements. #history #factsmatter

  9.  @Sheridantank  100% they don’t. I was born and raised in Europe. Inches, feet, pounds, gallons, ounces and pints are completely unknown measures in modern Europe. The funny thing is that things like 2x4s are standard there as well, but their mm measures are completely odd numbers

  11.  @coryturner9140  I agree that people will do what they will do. No one is arguing what people do. The point is that this truck fulfills the NEEDS of most truck owners. 80%, not 100% right? But also there’s an issue of people driving vehicles with horrendous fuel economy and of high pollution, just because they feel like it, but those two aspects affect everyone around them, not just them. I get that they likely don’t give a rat’s behind about anyone else… and perhaps the comment is about that too.

  14. This is why the Rav4 is the biggest selling car in the US. It does everything that’s needed, comfortably, and efficiently.

  15.  @jovanbudial5812  I agree that a lot of people buy pick-ups for the wrong reasons, but you haven’t me mentioned what those reasons why. The fact is that most buy them for their size and ruggedness. This is why the Subaru Baja never sold, at all. It’s why the Chevy TrailBlazer “pick-up” didn’t sell. It’s why the Avalanche sold poorly. All of these sell poorly, including the Ridgeline. People don’t want small trucks.
