No need to ban the product entirely, just tax it so much that a pack costs around 25$ and ban smoking everywhere (a la Japanese). Guarantee you people will stop smoking.

@Jason-wm5qe Then they need to tax cigs more. And actually BAN people from consuming the product. You can still smoke cigs on the street in the UK. Make it so that people are only allowed to smoke within their house or specific smoker only areas outside.

@lol22332 If you live in a Western country the worse they'll do is make you pay a fee (well, besides the USA maybe). If you live in a 3rd world country they'd have found a different reason to beat you up anyways; might have well have them help you quit cigs.

@morrismckinnon6047 Then it'd give a reason for the authorities of your country to throw you behind bars. In a thread of less than 10 answers we managed to find a way to criminalize cigarette smoking to the point of being able to send someone to prison for life. I'm sure our governments can get behind that idea.

@morrismckinnon6047 A large % of my family members were avid smokers. They're all dead save for a few individuals. Cancer is a curious thing.
