There is something to making smooth, businesslike, and responsible transitions, Congressman. The dollar amounts cited as evidence were very small scale, and somewhat misleading. The program in Nepal was about addressing religious persecution in Nepal by encouraging the kind of religious freedom we have in the US. That includes the freedom not to believe, a value recognized by such as Madison and Jefferson. Christians actually have an interest in that persecution being addressed. As for funding drag shows, the amounts seem so small I would think some private foundation could be found to support that. I agree that US aid should stick to more practical assistance.

Big chunk goes to Israel. Can't touch that.

@ Israel did receive economic aid in the past. It would not surprise me if they asked for a temporary renewal of such aid at this time. They face increased veteran costs, and I would think they have to put more man-hours on securing their perimeters.

@douglasolsen6861 Ask any Certified Public Accountant about the cost of accountability. The Congressman has not demonstrated any serious return on the opportunity costs (time and money) of his investigations. God bless him if he finds billions spent on resort hotel rooms or some other impractical foreign assistance. That would be productive accountability. Bear in mind that Israel has been our primary beneficiary for decades, aided in the purchase of American made military equipment, which, of course, does not come cheap. Interesting that we rarely see a graph of aid by country. To anyone who would point out Ukraine, now half dead on the side of the road, I would point to the Good Samaritan.
