  1. The Soviet Union broke up in part because oil prices went down. Most of us can put some down pressure on oil prices by using it more efficiently and using less of it. Low prices would also allow the US to replenish its strategic oil reserve. If prices spike back up and support Russia, the reserve can be used to push them back down. Oil and gas money empowered Putin to start this war. A lack of oil and gas money can help shut this war off.
