  1. In 1867, the United States purchased Alaska, without a fight, for $120 million with an "m" in 2022 US dollars. Since 1948, the United States has provided Israel with over $130 billion with a "b" in assistance, and additional billions have been sent to Egypt every year as part of the Camp David Accords. Perhaps a Palestinian State could be enlarged through land purchases from Israel and Egypt. Both countries seem to retain interest in receiving US money. I recognize that, like Ukraine, much of this money goes to US manufacturers for equipment that is then shipped to the Middle East. That said, if the US thinks a two-state solution is the way to go, perhaps it ought to insist on land grants from both Israel and Egypt for a Palestinian State.
