  1. There's a difference between temperature and heat, as this scientist well knows. I guess there is also a difference between scientists who are paid by the government and scientists who are paid by the Cato Institute. The Cato institute is largely privately funded by corporations and people of considerable means. What's relevant to me as a Floridian is sea level rise, and my understanding is the current rate of sea level rise is 1/8" per year, which is a higher rate than in the past, and that the rate is forecasted to increase in the future, accelerating the effects of sea level rise on coastal communities. Sea level is not threatening when the sea is relatively calm, but the sea is not always calm. As sea level rises, storm surges will penetrate further inland. If we have difficultly believing science, we might finally respond to property insurance premiums. Advise your young as well as you can. They will face this.
