  12. It is indeed tragic. The rest of the world has seen that "We the People" of the United States can be manipulated into voting for someone like Mr. Trump. Former allies must plan as if Mr. Putin and his "diplomats" will assist Mr. Trump in remaining in the Presidency for the rest of his life. This is likely, because the Congress is showing little capacity to start a process of impeachment and removal, though many of us have already petitioned for just that. Australia should go back to France for submarines. All former allies should turn to Rolls Royce and EuroJet on others for jet engines. Mr. Trump can interfere with the support of any American military system at the behest of Mr. Putin. The great tragedy is the gullibility of the American people, which is quite likely to survive Mr. Trump. Save your countries. American may have to go through a lot of pain before the learn again that patrimonialism is weaker than an expert nation state. From a sincerely regretful American.
