I think of all that soldier has probably seen and done, and how difficult his life must be. If he sees the butterfly on his Ukrainian flag as a still, small voice from Providence, then I say so be it please.

Yeah, Mitch and Charlie Schumer and Joe can tell Mr. Johnson to go ahead and do his thing in the House, they will pause on the Israel package until the separate Ukraine package shows up. AIPAC needs to make a good call here, or they are going to lose a point or two with Americans who support Ukraine. We still have a treaty with Israel and we should keep it, but bad as the situation is Israel is, the situation in Ukraine is worse.

@brynmawrbeth318 Fine. The Senate and the President can just wait until the Ukraine bill shows up. The question is what is AIPAC going to say the US government.

Israel is a long term recipient of US aid and its military is well equipped with the latest in US weaponry, which Israel often improves upon. If the House wants to split consideration on aid to Israel and Ukraine, then the Senate and/or the President can say that that is fine, they will wait to sign off on aid to Israel just as soon as the House passes a bill to aid Ukraine. The new Speaker gets respect for doing it his way, and the Senate and the President do the rest their way. It may very well be Israel that tells the House to pass Ukraine aid. If they do, Ukraine will get its aid promptly.

I would expect a lawyer like Mr. Johnson to present a sound argument for his positions. I have not seen them yet.
