  1. The Russians are in Venezuela to suppress oil production and thereby prop up the price of oil. Enough oil is produced to prop up the regime. Venezuela used to produce 3 million bbls per day. They are around 1 million now.

  2. As long as Maduro has a core group of armed men and financial and military aid from his supporters, he will be in power. Expatriate Venezuelans need to think about forming a militia. Or they just settle in welcoming nations and let Venezuela spiral into something like Cuba. Guyana and Columbia need to be strengthened. Expatriate Venezuelans could help with that effort.
