  1. The House Dems just need to find four Republicans who would join them in calling on Mitt Romney to be Speaker until December 2025. Mr. Romney was retiring anyway. I think he would answer this last call to serve his country. He'd put up Ukraine aid for a vote in short order.

  3. I've worked in small American public electric utilities. The linemen, with overtime, often make more money than the boss. And given the hazards of the work, I have no complaint. But I did appeal to their pride to maintain a reliable system, outages, sometimes, not all the time, being a sign of poor performance on their part. Apparently, Ukraine got the memo, while Russia did not.
