  1. The Russian propagandists are trying to rile up the Russian population into more of a war footing. They will use selected truth to do that if that is what it takes. For all of Russia's "fears", they should look to the Budapest Memorandum, which the US, Britain, and Ukraine observed with respect to the security of the Russian border from its signing. And all Russia had to do before the war is re-read the Memorandum on the subject of US and British support for the borders of Ukraine. They failed to believe or carefully consider that Britain and the United States might actually follow through on that support. And one has to give credit to President Biden for seeking to bring the rest of the NATO countries to support Ukraine, although it did not seem too hard to do so.
