  1. The Congressman does a fine job of displaying his loyalty to former President Trump by using the former President's same vocabulary. Rather than establishing premises from a full timeline, the Congressman's mission is to fully exonerate himself and the Trump administration. He will be rewarded accordingly. What he will not say, is that a full evacuation of equipment and deserving persons from all of Afghanistan would have required thousands of more American and NATO troops with no guarantee as to the ensuing casualties. But the Congressman does not have to address that to accomplish his fealty mission. He does not have to take any responsibility for what would he himself needed to be doing during the Trump administration and in the few months leading up to a second term Trump administration's completion of withdrawal. He has been saved by the Biden administration and its mixed results in completing President Trump's program for Afghanistan. But he will not be weak and show any gratitude. He is strong, and he has Biden and Blinken on the ropes and he means to keep punching. It's about victory out of defeat. It's about payback for those impeachments and every slight from the Democrats.
