  1. Yeah. Good comment. 5% on defense is only necessary when a war is forecasted near or mid-term or underway. Otherwise, that level of spending is not good for an economy. Military equipment does not produce the economic multiplier effect that civilian goods and services do.

  6. No, five percent is too much. It would be bad for all economies involved. See RAND Corporation paper on the counterproductivity of excessive defensive spending. The responsible bandwidth is 2 percent to 4 percent based on the security situation and prudent forecasts.

That is a plurality of those who voted, not a majority, and many Americans of voting age feel voting is pointless and thus do not vote. Tell yourself the truth. You live in a nation where millions live in quiet desperation. You live in a nation that is quite evenly divided politically.
