I suspect if the American people were advised what operational control of the southern border would cost, they would direct the Congress to find some kind of affordable middle ground. The Members may be legally correct in their accusations of the Secretary, but they evade the practical details of achieving their objective. One might also suspect there are a number of cost and policy studies sitting on some government shelf, the contents of which the average taxpayer would gag on.

@nitagilbert1681 Sounds like two-week vacations to desert barracks, chow halls, and armories with pick-up truck rides to 12-hours shifts at firing positions and minefield work. Is that the thinking? I did two weeks at Fort Huachuca. Mighty hot there.
