How do you know she didn't see that coming if she didn't resign? She was a high officer of the United States, with a long record of successful protection, she deserved a chance to bow out. I think she knew she had to resign or face dismissal. She was offered the honorable route and she took it. She set a decent example for her successors.

Johnson would like to start having Harris making decisions Republicans can criticize and reduce her available campaign time. The Democrats are not going to fall for it. Joe is down to six months. The American people can handle that, and Joe can too now that he doesn't have to campaign. The Republicans would like to keep Trump off of the air, because his age is showing. Johnson has to step into the void, and I don't know that he's the best guy for that job. Vance is no rock star.
