  1. Trump is leading the US into patrimonialism which has on its record such societies as North Korea, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Russia. He seeks kingship or godfather status. Government is about helping "friends", not competence. It becomes more corrupt than a bureaucratic state. The narrative is to point at the poverty of the long-term practitioners and the corruption.
