  1. It's funny that people always want to look a bit different than they actually do. For instance, in my country, when people are pale (especially in winter, when there's little sun), they don't like it and don't want to be so pale. And here, they talk about whitening and are using special whitening face creams.

  2. I think You stated it wrong. What about Japanese, having for instance both Japanese parents, knowing the Japanese culture - but born abroad? Japanese citizenship is generally acquired by "ius sanguinis" (so by birth from parents). Apart from naturalization of a foreigner, like in this case.
