  1.  @silasbishop3055  1. That's not relevant. 2. They do have high taxes and the people are happy to pay this as they get a lot back from the government. Americans and Brits also pay a lot of tax and we don't get anywhere near enough benefits. 3. The Nordic model has been around for a century at this point, it's clearly sustainable

The thing is, while I do support socialism, there are social democracy options found in Nordic countries that uses free-market capitalism with a strong welfare state, universal healthcare and childcare, relatively cheap rent and housing (mainly Denmark and Finland but getting worse, however), high salaries (Denmark has nearly twice the average monthly wage as the UK and Germany), free education and generous pensions. And I think the USA and the UK could do this. I know some will talk about diversity, but Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway have had a lot of immigration in the past couple decades and they still have all of these things and they will continue to have this economic model and government support
