  1. My mother was living on her own, i told her many times i hire a live in companion but she did not want that cos she “did not want someone to flash toilet at night”. Then she fell inside her apartment and stopped moving. So there was no choice to send her to a nursing home where she has 24/7 care and other people to talk to. I think she will be slowly merging into dementia. She does not like to be there but there is no other option. I live far and i am not going to subject my husband to taking care of my mother, so he pays money for a very expensive nursing home. Anywho u never know what is going to happen to u but maybe u should try and take better care of yourself. I bought my mother a rollator to go to toilet and not to fall but she did not want to use it. The result - broken arm and nursing home. Ps. Everything went downhill after she was 81

  2. Indeed. My mother was living on her own until 81. Then she fell on her way to toilet in her apartment and after that was not able to move, home care was not possible anymore. At nursing home she has 24/7 supervision. I suggest to u from the bottom of my heart GET A LIVE IN HELP. A companion who will live with u and assist u. The most horrible at your age is to fall and break something and then everything goes downhill from that. I also play golf with a couple who are both soon to be 82. Still WALK all 4 hours or more. Husband plays golf EVERY OTHER DAY. I m shocked. I m 55 can not play golf that often

  3.  @DFerrante-nz6sk i think there re governmental nursing homes where they will take your property if u have any and will garnish your pension. It might be a long waiting list there. And they re not nice. Private ones can get u for your property if u have any. Maybe u should start researching now
