Put a jack stand or floor jack under your ratchet then you can stand on it. If you have to stand on it, that typically means it is going to snap the stud, which would be ok as you can then knock it out and put in another.

You make a good point on filtration. The Germans never use paper or cloth towels to check dipstick. They use leather chamois.

ok. So.. Here is what I see. Rear drums look newish and are probably made in China which means they are out of round and causing the pluses. China does not make a round drum. Find some used original ones made in Japan or USA as you need them round. Used original better than new Chinese ones. Drums and shoes can last for a super long time. Almost as long as the car. As for the fronts, those look newer and what happened there is who ever replaced them last put on crappy new pads which over heated and warped the new rotors. Crappy pads can do this to new rotors in just a few days or less. Good pads like Akebono can take months to warp a rotor if ever. EBC red stuff never warps a rotor and stops your car on a dime! I have learned after 50 years that when it comes to brakes, its mostly pads. Cheap rotors and great pads is way better than great rotors and cheap pads. The ideal is getting both great. Always get a solid rotor. No need to get slotted or drilled. Stay with the solid rotor and EBC red stuff and be prepared to be amazed. If you can not get EBC, then go Akebono. Stay away from cheap pads!!!!!
