If you're interviewing for a job position, is it really appropriate to judge a person about enthusiasm in their life? Come on. They're filling a position at a company, not marrying you. Yes, showing that they care by appropriate dress, timeliness and other details is expected. But why get overly excited about an interview that will most likely waste their time because the interviewer has weird notions and expectations about things that are absolutely unrelated to the job? Do you consider your doctors by their religious affiliation? How about a lawyer by their skill in your favorite hobby? Aptitude for the job should be the determinant. In just a couple lines, you've summed up why dealing with HR is the absolute worst.
