  1. Getting shortcuts doesn't really sound like "doing it the hard way." A receptionist being allowed to do tax returns and financial statements is very questionable. Whether you seeked that out or there are other factors at play, you were allowed to expand your job role with no qualifications. That means you were given an out of the ordinary chance. You were further given special treatment in being allowed to only take accounting courses. Again, an out of the ordinary thing. So taking into account your own narration of your story, what was the "hard way" amidst so many privileges and instances of special treatment?
