@amorphousblob2721 When it comes to program code, it should definitely have a leash. That's what makes stable code. We don't need code that one day decides it needs to pursue "muh freedoms" and crash the program or worse, create an exploitable vulnerability. If Rust prevents problems while being safe and effective for what it needs to do (aka quality) that should end the discussion. All the social demagoguery is so silly when we're talking about programming. Code doesn't care about your feelings, even if they wear a red hat.

@jocm99 Look at amorphousblob's comment and tell me that nobody hates Rust as a programming language. It's anthropomorphizing but with political identity. It's like the code is coming to take his firearms and Edison light bulbs. In this case, the grass ain't no greener (or saner).
