  2.  @APBabyByU  “ Reducing the power of the state” Ok, you can replace the lords with an elected house but that wouldn’t make it necessary to remove the monarchy. She wanted to weaken the power of the state but not take it away entirely. The monarchy is more like a check on the power of the elected head of government so she would have supported the monarchy not only from that perspective but also because she was more of a traditional conservative than a radical socialist. So she supported key British institutions like the monarchy.
