  1. So the moral of the story is: Americans need to get their security clearance. It's ironic how loudly we promote capitalism, but when the capitalist interest of minimizing costs renders us economically uncompetitive, only government interventions and positions can keep us on a payroll.

  2. Although hiring Americans is arguably worse for the housing shortage, as we're not as open to being domiciled in a dorm with random coworkers in our own country and would demand our own place even if it's just a campervan (which can still take up more usable space than a shared room).
