  1. Mass manufacturing won't be coming back to the US, or at least the easy high school-level jobs won't as anything returning will be automated and require more skill. Customized fabrication is promising though as 3D printers get better, which could end up democratizing manufacturing in general -- it may not provide a living wage, but it'll be cheap enough to perform as a hobby instead.
