What we commit on our military now is a bargain compared to what it will cost all of us in an industrial interstate war if our adversaries feel confident enough to test the full manufacturing and mobilization capacity of modern America. A second Trump presidency will only embolden our enemies as he deconstructs our alliances and fails to fully fund without enormous debts our defense capabilities, all while being distracted by the domestic outrage his traditionalist constituents inflame through their culture war against progressive tolerance.
